UCM Peace Potluck with Peggy Gish

The public is invited to a event featuring Peggy Gish, resident of Athens County and member of Christian Peacemaker Teams, who just returned from 2.5 months in Northern Iraq. She will talk about her experience and share how Kurdish Iraqi people are non-militarily resisting the threat of ISIS and about Kurdish villagers have been dealing with international oil corporations developing oil on their land. The Peace Potluck is a monthly event bringing students and community members together. Bring a dish to share if you can, but it’s not required.   1. Wish I could be there. For me, sitting safely at home, it seemed like much longer than 2.5 months! Did it feel longer, shorter of just so – 2.5 months to you?
