Please consider giving to provide comforters to Poor Afghan families

If you are interested in helping the destitute in Afghanistan, please consider giving money to the Voices for Creative Nonviolence (VCNV) for their “Duvet Project.”   Link: http://vcnv.org/the-duvet-project   One hundred percent of  the money you send will go to pay poor Afghani to make heavy comforters, which are then given away to poor families, who have little means for keeping warm during the harsh Afghan winters. This not only gives income to poor women as well as prevents people from freezing to death in the cold.

When I was in Afghanistan for two weeks in the spring of 2011, with the VCNV, I met the people who administer this project, and can vouch for this being a very reputable project and organization.
